Tag 43 / Day 43

Nun sind es nur noch 20 Kilometer bis Avignon, wo wir unsere liebe Freundin Gabi wiedersehen. Eine unserer letzten Schleusen dieser Reise ging 22 Meter runter. Die Überraschung am Abend ist die Marina “Port 2”. Sie wird von einer sehr sympathische Dame geführt. Wir haben auf gar keinen Fall so einen idyllischen Platz erwartet; ausser eines riesigen Industriegebietes ist hier nur der schöne Liegeplatz. Es sind um 21:00 Uhr noch 31 Grad. Körperpflege mit Haarwäsche und Bartpflege heute mal wieder im Fluss. Duschen gibt es nicht. Dafür aber ein eisgekühltes Bier auf der Terrasse der Capitanerie.

Now it’s only 20 kilometers to Avignon, where we see our dear friend Gabi again. One of our last locks of this trip went down 22 metres. The surprise in the evening is the Marina “Port 2”. It is run by a very engaging lady. We definitely didn’t expect such an idyllic place; apart from a huge industrial area, there is only the beautiful berth here. It’s still 31 degrees at 9:00 p.m. Body care with hair washing and beard care is in the canal again today. There are no showers. But an ice-cold beer on the terrace of the Capitanerie.
